Review
Exciting Action + Unpredictable Mystery + Hint of Romance = Caller ID!
One of my favorite parts of this book was the unexpected twists and turns. I loved that it kept me guessing and managed to take me by surprise (which I have to admit is very hard to do after reading so many gazillions of books!) It was a fast-paced and suspenseful and I could hardly put it down!
Despite all the thrilling adventure, I also loved the sweet romance that was brewing just under the surface. Even though most of the time that Courtney and Jason are together is spent fighting for survival, an undercurrent of romantic tension is also present. This does not distract from the action at all but adds more depth to the story. Though I am the first to admit I love a good romance, it is sometimes nice to have a more subtle love story.
I also appreciated the fact that Courtney was a very believable character. Many times authors create these perfect people that don't have any flaws and in turn are very difficult to relate to. It was extremely refreshing that Courtney had some realistic issues such as having a hard time trusting men and coming across as snobbish and spoiled. I loved watching the development of her character into a resourceful and savvy young woman who has to put aside her trust issues and rely on FBI agent, Jason Edwards just to survive.
I was already a huge fan of Rachelle's from her first novel, Wrong Number. However, after reading Caller ID, she has solidified her spot on my bookshelf!
